
Any kind of movement will do
Everyone has up and downs in life. Changes can really shake us up. It seems like the last few years have been full of changes, regular life events, and other unexpected things.
In 2021, we finished homeschooling, a major milestone after all those years. In the last few weeks, my son got a job and isn't home like he used to be. I'll admit it, I'm sad and miss him like crazy. He's not even that far away and still lives at home, even still, it's a change.
Anytime we have changes in life, we can feel anxiety and stress. So how can we cope? Movement has always been my go to. Although movement doesn't change the outside things, it brings us back to our body. Anxiety and stress live in our heads. They are thinking. Movement pulls us into feeling. When we are in the feeling state, we are in the present moment.
When it comes to physical, emotional, and mental health, movement is always available to us. This week, I challenge you to find movement everyday. Go for a walk, run, stretch, breathe (that's movement too). You don't have to go "all out." Five minutes, ten, thirty, it doesn't matter. I guarantee you will feel more inspired, more empowered, and at peace.
