
CATCH AND RELEASE
It's been a long time since I've been fishing. My grandparents used to take me and most times we would "catch and release" them. At the time I didn't think too much of it, the struggle of the fish on the line, squirming trying to get the hook out, and then releasing it back to the water. What a relief it must have been when we threw it back to its home.
When we have negative and stressful thoughts, we too can struggle and squirm. It isn't until we become aware of the thoughts that we can release them and find some peace.
As you move through this week, "catch" any negative thoughts. Label them as worry, fear, judgment, or complaint. Then consciously choose to "release" them as if you are tossing them into a stream, just like the fish.
Say to yourself, "I release and wash away...."
Release it to the current of life and trust it to go with the flow.
