You've probably heard, "You are what you eat." But how about, "You are what you feel?"

Emotions make us human and different from each other. They are our way of letting things in and letting things go. We can use them as a shield, but they can also be our weakness.

Eating healthy and being active is so important, but so is our mental health. In order to be whole, we have to nourish our mental health too.

What you feed your mind can either be nourishing or damaging. Thinking things like "I'm not good enough" or "I'm not worthy" makes it true because we believe it. It puts limitations on us.

What you feel signals the brain to release chemicals and hormones that travel throughout the body that impact our nervous and immune systems, causing us to feel pain, imbalance, and illness.

This week, notice your thought patterns. How many times a day do you have negative thoughts? Catch them and see if you can reverse them. It's not always possible, but it does help to focus on the positive.

I still tell my kids to have happy thoughts and think positively. That's what my mom used to tell me too.
