Misperception...
"We do not see things as they are. We see things as we are."
-The Talmud
Have you ever felt so much anxiety over a situation that you started creating all these scenarios in your head? Imagining all the bad things that could happen or the things that could go wrong? The worse you feel, the more your thoughts spiral. If you're in a bad mood, everything seems negative. and ten times worse.
I'm not going to lie, this past week was stressful and I was feeling it all over. My mind starting running away with out of control thoughts.
Judd happened to be on vacation and I knew the best thing for me to do was get out of the house for a bit. We went kayaking a few times (the water is my happy place), and it really did help me put everything into perspective and calm down. Sometimes the best thing we can do for our own good, is something we like, where we can put things into perspective, and try to turn our thought patterns around.
Do you recall times in your life when you've felt an overwhelming sense of anxiety about how something would turn out? What did you do to relieve your mind?
Here is an affirmation that has helped me this week:
What I perceive is not always the truth.
I can adjust my opinions and behavior as I encounter new and better information.
I will strive to see things as they are at all times and not jump to unfair conclusions.
Full schedule of classes this week.
Have a good one,
Lisa
