
MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE
Everyone has up and downs in life. Changes can really shake us up. In my family, the last few years have been full of changes, life events, and other unexpected things.
Anytime we experience change, we can feel anxiety and stress. So how can we cope? Movement has always been my go to. Although movement doesn't change the outside things, it brings us back to our body. Anxiety and stress live in our heads. They are thinking. Movement pulls us into feeling. When we are in the feeling state, we are in the present moment.
When it comes to physical, emotional, and mental health, movement is medicine and it's usually available to us. This week, I challenge you to find movement everyday. Go for a walk, run, stretch, breathe (that's movement too). You don't have to go "all out." Five minutes, ten, thirty, it doesn't matter. I guarantee you will feel better just getting up and moving your body!
