There are so many different types of yoga that it's hard to know the difference between one class and another. We hear this question a lot, "What is Restorative Yoga?"

Restorative Yoga is specifically designed to relax our nervous systems and undo all the stress that we experience on a daily basis. We live our days in "fight or flight" mode and if we stay in that heightened and stressed state for an extended period of time, we can experience physical ailments like aches, pains, high blood pressure, a higher heart rate, a weakened immune system, and sickness.

It seems counterproductive sometimes to actually take the time to rest, but it really is so important for our well-being. Restorative Yoga consists of longer held seated or lying postures, with the body completely supported by bolsters, blocks, and blankets. This allows our minds to rest from constant chatter, and our bodies to tap into our Parasympathetic Nervous Systems, our "rest and digest" state. Add in massage, and you've got a state of blissful relaxation!

Join Lisa and Denise for two special Restorative and Massage events. Lisa will be guiding the class, easing you into comfortable, relaxing poses, while Denise moves around the room working her massage magic.
