Why a strong core is important
Happy Sunday,
Our core. We use that term all the time in fitness classes. But what does it mean? The core includes the muscles in and around the torso: the abdomen, pelvis, and mid and lower back.
It's so important to strengthen the core because it protects your spine and the muscles around it. It helps you move, stabilize, and balance so that you can be better at the activities that you need to do everyday. A weak core can unfortunately cause poor posture, injuries, and lower back pain.
Most exercises that we do everyday include the core and you may not even realize it. Twisting to pull groceries out of your cart and load them in your car, bending, leaning, lifting, standing, sitting, cleaning, the list goes on and on.
So stand up tall, push your shoulders back, draw your navel to your spine, and think of me the next time you go grocery shopping. 😊
Let's strengthen the core together this week! All classes will have a core focus.
See you soon,
Lisa
